What's Inside My Beauty Bag

As you all know, leading a plant-based lifestyle is a huge part of who I am. I spend a very good amount of time each day making sure that I am fueling my body with the proper nutrients and that I am doing everything in my power to keep myself as healthy and balanced as possible. With that balance, though, comes more than just the food I eat.

Our skin is our bodies largest organ and what we put on our bodies is just as important as what we put in them! 26 seconds is all it takes for the chemicals in our every day products to enter our bloodstream. Did you know that 1938 was the last time congress passed a law regulating the cosmetics industry? Or that the European Union has banned close to 1,400 harmful cosmetic ingredients, when the United States has banned a mere 11?

That's why I choose to use only safe and clean beauty products that are free of any harmful ingredients.

I have three brands showcased in these photos: Beautycounter, Tarte, and Josie Maran.

Let's start with Beautycounter. I became a consultant for Beautycounter about a year ago because I whole-heartedly believe in their mission and also happen to love their products. Beautycounter contains absolutely no harmful chemicals making it the epitome of clean beauty. It truly is one of the only companies out there that I feel good about using daily and now can't go without!

You can read more about Beautycounter and check out all of the products here! Not only is the makeup amazing but the skin, body, and haircare products (I'll save those for another post!) are just as incredible, so be sure to check them out too!

Next let's talk about Tarte! Tarte is cruelty free, vegan, and formulated without any parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium laurel sulfate, or gluten. I am a huge fan of Tarte's makeup! Their Amazonian Clay Volumizing Brow & Hair Powder and Colored Clay Tinted Gel Brow are my two favorite products and my only must-do makeup steps.

Josie Maran offers some of my favorite natural looking makeup and skincare. Argan oil is the star ingredient used in Josie Maran's products which leaves your skin looking fresh and glowing!

My routine is pretty simple. After I've cleansed, toned, and moisturized, I place a few pumps of Beautycounter's Dew Skin (containing SPF 20!) all over my face using my fingers. If I have a blemish or dark circles under my eyes, Beautycounter's Touchup Skin Concealer Pen is next to come to my rescue. Then I dab a little bit of Josie Maran's Lip and Cheek Infinity Oil on my cheeks. I love how these products all leave my skin super "dewey" and never overdone.

Eyebrows are next, and to say I am obsessed with this step would be an understatement! If I only have time for one thing, eyebrows are always my go-to. I think that good brows make all the difference! As I already mentioned, I love Tarte's Amazonian Clay Volumizing Brow & Hair Powder, followed by their Colored Clay Tinted Gel Brow.

Then it's time for eyes! I usually stay pretty neutral when it comes to eye shadows. I absolutely love Tarte's Tartlette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette, followed by Beautycounter's Color Shade Eye Duo in Oyster/Amethyst. Beautycounter's eye shade duos are by far my favorite out there. They go on just right with a subtle shimmer without any of that annoying residual face glitter. If I'm going for a bolder look, I add some eyeliner to my upper/inner eyelids.

I finish it all off with Beautycounter's Lengthening Mascara to my upper and sometimes lower lashes, followed by a few sweeps of Tarte's Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer or Beautycounter's Color Contour Matte Bronzer and of course, some lipstick! I love Tarte's Amazonian Butter Lipsticks as well as Beautycounter's Lip Sheers. Josie Maran's Lip and Cheek Infinity Oils are another favorite lip look, especially if my lips are in need of some extra moisturizing.

When it comes to what I tote all of this clean beauty around in, Beautycounter's Cosmetics Bag and Brush Bag are my favorite by far. Made from responsibly-sourced coated canvas and polyester lining, these makeup bags are easy to clean, keep all of my brushes and pallets organized, and also happen to be super cute! If you are looking for an even bigger option, be sure to check out the Travel Bag as well!

I hope that you all enjoyed this post and that it inspires you to make the switch to cleaner beauty products!
